Lt Col Prashasti Chouhan was commissioned in the Army Education Corps on 06 Sep 2003. During her career in AEC, the officer has held various education and related appointments. The officer served as an Academic Instructor at National Defence Academy, Pune and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. The officer has also held the post of SO Edn at Inf Bde Pathankot and HQ Inf Bde Delhi. The officer also had a tenure as Translator in Sig Gp in Bhatinda. She has also served as Clinical Psychologist in Bhopal Memorial and Research Centre, Bhopal.

The officer holds an M.A. degree from Mumbai University and is also a graduate of the Barkatullah University, Bhopal. The officer also holds B.Ed from Kashmir University. Offr is also Korean language qualified from Korean culture centre New Delhi. She is an avid reader and her interests include badminton and athletics.

She is married to Brig VS Thakur who is currently posted as  HQ IDS. They are blessed with two kids.
